He holds that patient care—not profit—should always come first, and that philosophy guides his work every day. He is committed to helping independent pharmacies thrive, ensuring fair compensation for the services they provide, and supporting the continued growth of the profession so pharmacists can practice at the top of their licensure. His goal is simple: to ensure communities continue to benefit from the personal, accessible, high‑quality care that independent pharmacy uniquely delivers.

Cameron Phillips

I have been a pharmacist for 9 years and started my pharmacy career as an intern with King Soopers during my first year of pharmacy school. I have since had the opportunity to be the pharmacy manager at multiple locations with King Soopers and had the amazing opportunity to work and live in the mountains of the western slope for several years before moving back down to Denver.

Through precepting over the past 7 years for several pharmacy schools, I have been a strong advocate for the importance of community pharmacy to our profession. Training and offering mentorship to new pharmacists is something that I find incredibly important to continue to grow and develop the next generation of pharmacists.

In my current role as a Wellness Coordinator for King Soopers, I help to organize and facilitate our vaccines clinics and other health and wellness services to continue to expand our impact as healthcare professionals in our communities. In this role I am focused on building and developing relationships to expand care for patients. With this goal in mind, I am also seeking a position as a member-at-large for the CPS board this year.

It is an absolute honor to be nominated for the 2026 CPS Pharmacist of the Year Award. Regardless of the outcome, I would like to express my thanks to all the pharmacists and leaders that have mentored me through my pharmacy career thus far.

Student Pharmacist of the Year Nominees:

Kiri Carmody

I’m a soon‑to‑be graduate of the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy. This June, I’m excited to begin my PGY1 residency at M Health Fairview – University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Throughout my training, I’ve sought out experiences that help me understand patients at many different levels and from all backgrounds. From primary care at Kaiser Permanente and UCHealth AF Williams to the DAWN Clinic, where I managed chronic diseases for a predominantly Spanish‑speaking, underserved population. I also completed a population health rotation at the University of Montana, where I examined heat‑related medication risks and provided outreach to unhoused individuals and tribal communities. These experiences strengthened my commitment to improving health equity and delivering patient‑centered care.

I’ve also been deeply involved in leadership and professional service, serving as APhA‑ASP Chapter President, working on statewide and national committees, and contributing to curriculum development and academic research, including publications on high‑impact co‑curricular activities and medication‑related heat risks in older adults. I’m passionate about teaching, mentorship, and helping shape the next generation of pharmacy learners.

Outside of pharmacy, I love taking advantage of Colorado’s outdoors by hiking and skiing. I also enjoy baking sourdough and cooking.

As an active member of CPS since 2022, Vincent has demonstrated a strong commitment to the pharmacy community. His dedication to CPS as a student member and previous co-chair has been instrumental in shaping his pharmacy journey and encouraging student engagement and collaboration. Liam Watts

My name is Liam Watts, and I am a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Throughout pharmacy school, I have been committed to advancing the profession through leadership, service, and advocacy across Colorado and nationally.

I am an active member of the Colorado Pharmacists Society, where I have participated in Legislative Day at the Capitol and advocated for pharmacy-related legislation by writing letters to state and national representatives. I am also involved in national organizations, including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, helping promote student engagement in the profession.

My leadership experience is rooted in the Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, where I served as President and Vice President of the Sigma Chapter. I now serve as Regional Correspondent, mentoring students across 19 chapters. Additionally, as Mentorship Committee Chair for Student Council, I helped expand a peer mentorship program that connected two-thirds of incoming P1 students with upperclassmen.

I have also contributed to research focused on improving care for vulnerable populations. My career goal is to pursue ambulatory care and infectious diseases, with a focus on HIV care, while continuing to advocate for the pharmacy profession.

Pharmacy Technician of the Year Nominees:

TJ Davis

I have been actively involved with CPS since the summer of 2024, when Kim Ward and Riannon Koup sponsored my attendance at the Summer Meeting in Glenwood Springs. Since then, I have participated in both the Summer and Winter Meetings, as well as several mixers and Pharmacy Day at the Capitol.

As one of the few pharmacy technicians regularly involved, I would love to see increased technician representation and engagement within CPS. To help support this goal, I am currently sponsoring one of my technicians to become a CPS member, and he will be attending the upcoming Summer Meeting in Black Hawk.

I began my pharmacy career in January 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has been the best career decision of my life. I have a deep passion for teaching and mentoring new technicians. On my scheduled days off from my home pharmacy, I volunteer my time at stores that are short-staffed or have new team members, helping where needed and teaching the way I was taught. My goal is to build confidence, encourage growth, and inspire the same passion for this profession that I have found.
