Description:
Grant writing is a skill that may be needed by a number of practicing pharmacists to fund their innovative ideas and programs. This is not an inherent skill, nor is it one that is heavily focused upon during pharmacy school training. This program will set a basic foundation for how to apply for grants, with a focus on smaller, state and local opportunities.

Objectives:

  • Identify the foundational elements needed to build a good grant proposal.
  • Compare and contrast writing a grant application from writing a scientific journal article.
  • Create your "elevator speech" to share brief details about your ideas with potential funders.
  • Justify your project ideas using enthusiastic, specific lay language.
