Quarterly Webinar: Everything You Wanted to Know About Harm Reduction…and Probably More

Date: Tuesday, December 17th, 2019
1:00PM - 2:00PM MST

Members: Free
Non-Members: $10

Speaker: Lisa Raville, Executive Director, Harm Reduction Action Center – Denver, CO

Description: Let's talk about Life. Join us for information about HIV/viral hepatitis and overdose prevention efforts among people who inject drugs, one of the most stigmatized, marginalized, and underserved communities in Colorado. Remember, harm reduction isn't just for people who use drugs ... there is one positive thing that pharmacists can do today for a healthier and safer community.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply harm reduction principles when working with people who inject drugs amid an overdose epidemic.
  • Identify syringe access programs and access to sterile syringes as a viable method to reduce HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatis C transmission
  • Describe naloxone as an evidence-based public health intervention proven to save lives.
  • Demonstrate proactive actions to better serve people who use drugs in their communities.
