Demystifying the PPCP and EPA Alphabet Soup: Trusting Your Students to Engage in the Pharmacists Patient Care Process.

The Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education encourages pharmacy schools and colleges to identify professional activities that students will be entrusted to perform without supervision. Students must have the opportunity to demonstrate these patient care activities, called Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), throughout the PharmD program. In addition, the Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners developed a model by which the delivery of patient care is optimized and consistent. This framework, known as the Pharmacist Patient Care Process (PCPP) is highlighted as a key element within pharmacy curricula and is an accreditation expectation. This webinar is designed to help demystify the concept of EPAs in pharmacy education and illustrate how pharmacists can leverage EPAs as a means to give meaningful experiences to students, especially as those opportunities relate to the PPCP.
