CPS Monitors and Lobbies over 20 Health Care Bills in 2010 Legislative Session

The 2010 Legislative Session began January 13, 2010 and ended May 12, 2010. Under the direction of the CPS Legislative Committee, lobbyists Elsie Lacy and Executive Director/lobbyist, Val Kalnins monitored and lobbied 23 bills in the 2010 Legislative Session. The three bills supported by CPS were signed by the Governor. These include HB 1216, SB 115 and SB 117. For a copy of the final bill click on the corresponding “All Versions” link below.  If you have any questions or would like to be a member of the CPS Legal and Legislative Committee, please call the CPS office on 303-756-3069.

CPS, in collaboration with RxPlus and the Chain Pharmacies of Colorado Retail Council, was successful in reducing the proposed cut in pharmacy reimbursement for Medicaid prescriptions from the possible $15 million to 1.5 million. This was accomplished through suggested modifications of the State Maximum Allowable Cost program.
